1. Take a saliva sample
First thing in the morning, before eating or drinking, place a tiny drop of saliva on the microscope lens. Let it dry for a few minutes. As estrogen rises before ovulation, the dried saliva forms a fern-shaped crystal pattern.
2. Photograph it with the app
Open the Babyndex app, hold the microscope against your phone camera and take a photo of the sample. The app recognises crystal patterns automatically — no microscopist required.
3. Read your fertile window
Babyndex scores each photo and plots it on your cycle. Dots, partial ferns and full ferns map to low, medium and high probability days, so you can see your most fertile window at a glance.
